Environmental Tree Awareness Curriculum
2013 | Hiram College
With support from the TREE Fund, Hiram College will deliver our Environmental Tree Awareness (ETA) curriculum as part of our highly-successful Igniting Streams of Learning in Science (ISLS) STEM Academy Program. ISLS is a collaborative of educators, scientists, students and local citizens dedicated to improving learning in science through inquiry into natural environments. This project will extend principles of urban forestry and their positive impacts on watersheds into high-school STEM curricula by providing teachers with field books and supplies. The ETA curricula are aligned to Ohio Model Curriculum high-school science course standards, and incorporate elements that allow high-school students to develop a school specific curriculum on urban trees through hands-on learning.
