The TREE Fund joins the friends, colleagues and family of Terrill Collier in mourning his untimely passing May 11. A longtime friend of the TREE Fund and member of the Tour des Trees’ “tree family”, Terrill served as a TREE Fund Trustee and Development Committee chair and was a powerhouse cyclist and fundraiser for the Tour des Trees. Collier Arbor Care was a perennial Tour sponsor, and Terrill and his wife, Janet, donated generously to the Raise Your Hand for Research auctions. Team Collier took the lead in constructing an ‘epic’ Tour in their home state of Oregon in 2012, managing everything from bike shipments to a gracious dinner for the Tour riders at their home. The Oregon Tour still holds the record for registrants, fundraising and (by many accounts) awe-inspiring moments. Terrill was a good listener, a wise counselor and an adept problem solver. Before his passing, the Collier family established the Collier Arborist Training Trust at the TREE Fund to support the education and training of the next generation of tree care professionals.
