Tour des Trees Volunteers

Volunteers are an essential part of the Tour des Trees and we are grateful for all of the people who so willingly dedicate their time and effort to make this event a success.

All our volunteers work together and support each other and the riders, as needed, though we tend to split volunteers into two different groups during the week when delegating tasks. Support Crew Volunteers work with Tour Director Paul Wood to provide roadside support for riders throughout each day of the event. Event Volunteers work with TREE Fund’s Jonathan Cain to assist with outreach events. At times, these positions are one in the same. Because we have a finite number of vehicle and hotel spaces available to transport these teams of volunteers, we may have to respectfully decline your interest in serving in one of these roles if all needed spaces are filled.

As a Tour des Trees Volunteer, you will complete a registration form online so that we have your information. You receive t-shirts to wear while on duty and you’re eligible for reimbursement from TREE Fund for up to $350 in travel expenses. Reimbursement requests for the 2026 Tour des Trees must be submitted to TREE Fund by October 10, 2026. Unreimbursed expenses may be tax deductible, so volunteers are encouraged to save travel receipts and check with their tax experts.

Volunteers are not required to fundraise, but many wish to share their enthusiasm for the Tour with family and friends. When you register as a volunteer, you can set up a fundraising page if you wish, via our fundraising site, www.tourdestrees.org.

Outside of Support Crew and Event Volunteers, we routinely need help and support at rest stops and other events, so please inquire if you would be interested in a single day or single stop volunteer opportunity. Single day and single stop volunteers may receive tee shirts, hats, or other branded swag, subject to availability.
