Return to Table of Contents: Summer 2012
The first Ohio Chapter ISA Education Grant was awarded by the TREE Fund to Katherine Herms (Ohio State University) for the Secrest Arboretum. The $5,000 grant, funded by the Ohio Chapter, will support development of a dynamic, geo-referenced, online inventory database of the tree germplasm at Ohio State University’s Secrest Arboretum in Wooster, Ohio. The publicly accessible database will provide information about trees suitable for Ohio, and facilitate the development and execution of educational programs and scientific research. A modern inventory system for cataloging Secrest Arboretum’s collection will provide researchers with information about taxa available for study and support the economic development of plant-based markets for Ohio’s diverse Green Industry.
