Dear Mrs. Bornancin:

I am very grateful to be one of the recipients of the 2010 TREE Fund Robert Felix Memorial Scholarship. The TREE Fund is an asset to the tree care industry and provides a significant source of funding for arboricultural research and educational scholarships.

It was an honor to receive the Robert Felix Memorial Scholarship. Growing up in the tree care industry, I have had a passion for trees and the outdoors since my childhood. I was fortunate to meet Robert Felix at a National Arborist Association meeting with my Dad many years ago. I am very appreciative of the foresight and impact the Felix family had to establish a fund to encourage arboricultural education. Robert Felix was a strong proponent of education in the field of arboriculture.

Today, with the help of the TREE Fund, I am an arborist and a Certified Treecare Safety Professional with Wonderland Tree Care Inc. in Oyster Bay, New York. My education at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture and UMass Amherst helped me to become a Certified Arborist and an integral part of the company’s plant health care programs.

Thank you again for this great honor.
Sincerely,

David W. Golon, CTSP
