Organizations or individuals may directly fund research projects that are administered by TREE Fund. These projects must be compatible with TREE Fund’s mission, must be designed and documented with rigorous scientific protocols, and must not serve to promote proprietary products or services.
The sponsor(s) may request an open, competitive award process, or may direct their grant award to a specific, qualified researcher.

This project is sponsored by Asplundh Tree Experts, LLC, Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont, FirstEnergy Corp; PECO Energy Company (an Exelon Company). Under the supervision of Pennsylvania State University, Integrated Vegetation Management research projects take place on new and existing public test plots on the State Game Lands Area 33 and Green Lane Research and Development Area that is designed to perpetuate work to the benefit of utility providers, utility workers, residential and commercial utility customers, the environment, and the public and large. Urban Forestry Foundation
The Urban Forestry Foundation (UFF) was established by Urban and Community Forestry Society (UCFS) to engage in the development, support, and promotion of urban forest training and the dissemination of technical and operational information. It provides funding for UCFS programs such as the Municipal Forestry Institute and the Municipal Arborist Exchange Program, as well as the development of new programs designed to improve education of municipal forestry professionals.
