Pick Your Paradise at the TREE Fund Auction in Portland! : Summer 2012

Return to Table of Contents: Summer 2012

Who wouldn’t want to win a trip to Italy (cooking classes included) for $100? Or a cruise for two to anywhere in the world? How about a full-size, handcrafted wooden bicycle, or an exquisitely tooled leather climbing saddle?

The TREE Fund’s “Raise Your Hand for Research” Auction, hosted by ISA, has always been a great place to shop for vacations, excursions, fine woodwork, artwork and more. This year’s auction offers all of the above, with a delicious twist.

The winner of the TREE Fund’s new “Golden Ticket” raffle will take home the live auction item of their choice for the price of their raffle ticket. Just 50 tickets will be sold at $100 each; the winning ticket entitles its owner to claim their heart’s desire just minutes before the bidding begins on August 13. Visit the TREE Fund booth at ISA’s Arbor Fair on August 11 or on the trade show floor at the conference to purchase your Golden Ticket.

ISA Chapters, industry leaders and individuals have contributed to a valuable and varied catalogue to benefit the TREE Fund. Offerings include weeklong vacations in Italy, Bali and Africa, getaways to Toronto, New York’s Finger Lakes wine country, California and the mountains of North Carolina, a fun-filled weekend at the Indy 500 and a “choose your cruise” Holland America package with unlimited options. A fully functional Mastercraft “Defender” wooden bike puts a new spin on “Tour des Trees,” and our working Winchester rifle (circa 1894) would be a worthy addition to any vintage firearms collection. New additions to the catalogue are arriving daily.

Doors open for the auction at 5:30 p.m. August 13 at the Portland Doubletree Hotel. Tickets are $35 at the door or $25 in advance with your ISA registration or on the TREE Fund website. Reserved table seating is offered for groups of 6 or more.

Auction guests will have the opportunity to sample Oregon’s award-winning wines and test their luck to win an Apple iPad. The evening also includes a cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Attire is business casual.

The TREE Fund Silent Auction moves to the ISA trade show floor this year. Bidding opens Sunday, August 11 on a wide array of necessities and indulgences for arborists, tree enthusiasts, connoisseurs and collectors, and continues through Tuesday’s lunch break.
