The Tour des Trees, now in its 20th year, is the signature fundraising event for the TREE Fund and America’s largest fundraiser for tree research.The 2011 STIHL Tour des Trees “VA2DC Tour” opens with a 1-day Ride for Research in Virginia Beach, VA October 2. This 30-mile “fun ride” offers local and recreational cyclists an opportunity to join the STIHL Tour des Trees for the day, with no fundraising requirement.

Sun., 10/2: Ride for Research: Virginia Beach, VA
Mon., 10/3: Virginia Beach to Williamsburg
Tues., 10/4: Williamsburg to Richmond
Weds., 10/5: Richmond to Charlottesville
Thurs., 10/6: Charlottesville to Front Royal (via Skyline Drive)
Fri., 10/7: Front Royal to Reston
Sat., 10/8: Reston to Washington DC
Other highlights include a private tour of STIHL’s chainsaw production facility, a cycling tour of historic Williamsburg/Jamestown, dinner with the members of MAC-ISA Oct. 3 and 65 miles of spectacular scenery along the Shenandoah Valley’s world-famous Skyline Drive. The VA2DC Tour concludes October 8 in at American University in Washington D.C. following visits to the National Arboretum and the National Mall.
